Meet Dr. Monica McGrath

 

Monica McGrath, Ph.D., is a leadership consultant, business coach and educator. She formerly served as the Vice Dean for the Aresty Institute of Executive Education at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. She served in a variety of roles throughout her tenure at Wharton, including Director of Leadership Programs and Adjunct Professor. She also established numerous learning initiatives in her seventeen years at the school. While at Wharton Monica co-created the highly successful Women's Executive Leadership and High Potential Leadership Programs. Monica was instrumental in the design of the Wharton Coaching Network, and the Leadership Ventures and Fellows programs.


From 2008 to 2010, she served as the first faculty director for the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women Program delivered in Cairo, Egypt and the initial 10,000 Small Business Program, both of which are still in operation. In addition to teaching undergraduate and graduate programs at Wharton, Monica has worked as a consultant and educator within the corporate setting through her consulting firm Resources for Leadership, Inc. Her past clients have included Siemens Medical Systems, Colgate Palmolive Co., FMC Corporation, TDL Group (Tim Horton’s), Unisys, Rohm and Haas, DuPont Company, Morgan Stanley, McNeil Pharmaceuticals, and Wyeth (currently Pfizer, Inc.), High Liner Foods. Her non-profit clients have included The Opportunity Finance Network, Women’s World Banking, the Kresge Foundation, and The National Philanthropic Trust.


She serves in an advisory position for the Wharton McNulty Leadership Program and various executive programs within the Aresty Institute of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Her volunteer activities include board leadership with the Philadelphia Outward Bound Board and the Broward College Foundation Board, and she is an active team member on two dragon boat teams.


Monica holds a B.A. in Psychology, an M.Ed. in adult learning, and a PhD, with an emphasis in organizational psychology, from Temple University.
